version française suit

If i had to tell you what i’ve done so far this summer, i’ll probably tell you i’ve watched an episode of Project Runway every freaking day (it makes me feel guilty)! Such a great show, and so addictive! I was watching it when i was in Ireland, then i forgot about it and now i am catching up on season 7 <s>like an obsessive geek</s>. Don’t spoil me please… I am in love with Seth Aaron’s work, i hope he is going to win, but i don’t want to know!

Every time i am watching PR, i am dying to own a dress form, a vintage one preferably. I think it’s a beautiful item by itself, it’s very useful to work with garment pieces to construct clothes and i like the idea of display finished garments on a dress form standing in my room.

Guess what? I found one. Well, 2 of my most beloved ones found one for my birthday (next monday!). They found it at a thrift store, it’s in a great condition, it has a beautiful wooden stand and it’s just exactly how i wanted it to be! Lady Foxy (yes, i gave her a name!) comes from Paris and has a tag printed on her bodice which says « Faubourg St-Honoré, Vendôme, Paris VIIIème ». How chic is that? What could i ask for more? Tim Gunn as a mentor maybe…

I am so excited about it that it thought it deserves an article!

Remember this WIP article? Well, my Pullip & my new skirt are finished.

First let me introduce you to my 2nd Pullip Doll. Her name is Akemi (means « Beautiful sunrise » in japanese) and she is a Duchesse. She is a Mercu Pullip, for the moment i have only changed her wig, her eyelashes & obitsu (body). This is how she looked before.

☆ Name: Akemi
☆ Age: 25
☆ Fav styles: Marie-Antoinette & victorian
☆ Hobbies: writing poetry, theater, embroidery

Her outfit was entirely made by me, it features a dress, a petticoat & a canotier (headpiece). I also made her a little fan.

You can see more pictures of her on my flickr.

I also finished to sew my high-waisted pink skirt. It took me a while to make it. I decided to draft my own underbust corset pattern for a start and then decided to make a skirt. I added metal boning and a lacing in front.

Here is my outfit rundown:

☆ Skirt: handmade by me
☆ Boots: Swimmer
☆ Socks: Secret shop
☆ Cutsew: Dear Celine
☆ Canotier: Angelic Pretty
☆ Cardi: H&M

Sewing clothes is so much fun, and difficult at the same time… but when you come with a finished garment, you feel so proud and happy! All you think about is starting another new project!

Hope you like it! Have a nice weekend!

☆ Nom: Akemi
☆ Age: 25
☆ Style: Marie-Antoinette & mode victorienne
